Vintage romantic. This is really just us... we are that in love... We wanted our photographer Dan Zaitz to capture our passion. Front Room Photography has a talents group of photographers!! This is one of our favorites. An admission ticket style invitation to begin the chic vintage feel for our 1950's Hollywood wedding was sent. Black with silver lettering.. to match the silver screen ambiance.

Our 13 piece big band. Jerry Becker is a wonderful friend and musician. We have done many events together and it was only fitting we chose them for our band. They recreate such a fun Big Band feel that it is always easy to get a crowd playing along in the fun with them.

Ginger Rodgers and Rosemary Clooney meet Marylin Monroe.. the style for the dress came from a collection of the classic leading ladies. My seamstress Kate Barnacow and I designed the dress and she brought it to fruition. Made of layers of silk chiffon and satin the off-white dress is a singular creation. I felt like a silver screen heiress through out the night.

I chose a large group of cream orchids with Thai leaves of deep green that crowned the blooms from the under side. It is classic and yet curvatiously feminine. I loved the color contrast. My girls carried bouquets of seeded eucalyptus and dusty miller wrapped in black satin to match their timeless black halter style dresses.

Birdcage veil. Using veiling from the 1930's, we created a birdcage veil true to form. The vintage flair was perfectly matched with the classic dress I wore and really added the finish that "made" my look.

Elegantly back-lit through glass block. The Parisians were placed artfully on the tiered cake display made especially for the 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 inch ganache covered cakes. Each cake, made by Simmas bakery in Wauwatosa, WI, had three layers of cake, white, poppy seed and chocolate separated by raspberries and buttercream frosting. Each parisian was topped with a hand scrolled design in buttercream frosting.

Swing dancing is how we met and what we do now for a living. It only ads to the "theme" for our wonderful wedding. Maureen wore a female tailored suit that allowed for her skillful lead on the dance floor. She took "chic" and made it timeless in her off-white suit in the ceremony and on the dance floor.

Interesting posting... I'm definitely interested in seeing the pics from the actual day! My wedding was also vintage hollywood, though I threw in art nouveau in for added spice! Have fun planning and come to CA to get it done legally!
