Wedding location: Fort Worth Community Arts Center
We had our ceremony and reception at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. We really wanted a museum gallery feel, and the Arts Center believes in offering affordable rentals to the public, so it was perfect! They were wonderful to work with and had the kindest staff!

One of my best friends and bridesladies works for a local flower shop in Dallas called Avant Garden, and ever since she started working there I knew she would be the only one I wanted to do my flowers when I got married. The arrangements are so artistic and unique it just seemed to fit our personality perfectly!

My friend Dyanna (who works professionally under the name ByMycah) did both my catering and blue cake design. I actually saw a picture of this cake on theknot.com and fell in love with it and asked her if she could do it. She said no problem at all and it turned out perfectly. The cake just matched our personality and wedding colors exactly! Kevin's grand piano cake was made by his long time family friend, Lois Cochran who lives in Cleburne, TX. Kevin plays piano and his mom always wanted him to have this cake. In addition to its amazing detail, it tasted great, too!

I absolutely LOVED my dress! I found it online a couple weeks after we were engaged in my initial searching on the BCBG website, and it was love at first sight. I actually never went and tried any dresses on at all because I kept thinking about this dress. It wasn't in any stores in Texas yet so I took a chance and just ordered it online. It was perfect! I couldn't have dreamed of a dress that could be more "me." And it was ridiculously affordable, too!

This is a picture of "the girls" that I've been friends with since middle school. We were trying to replicate a picture we'd taken together a few years back. I know you can't tell the color of the dresses since it's in black and white, but they are a deep espresso color and we bought them through Dessy's After Six collection. Their styles are so flattering, and I love the simple but elegant look.

I did a little "research" among friends and discovered that many wedding favors get put in the junk drawer or the trash can after weddings, so we wanted to do something easy and reusable. We decided to make our favors these little muslin drawstring bags that I stamped with a custom bird stamp I had made from Acme Rubber Stamp Co. in Dallas. Then we filled the bags with dried lavender, and that's what our guests threw at us when we left. So it was environmentally safe and everything smelled great!

This picture is an example of why we loved our photographers so much. We chose our friend's company, Dallas in Focus, because photography was one of the most important aspects of the wedding for us and we completely trusted their ideas as well as their body of work. We love their documentary style because we wanted the pictures to tell the whole story of our wedding day, not just posed moments. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great photographer. They have this amazing “Photo Booth” feature where they take silly pictures of the guests up against a stark white background in black and white while they’re moving around and they turned out great! The Bridal Party picture was one of those. Don’t worry if you’re out of state. They'll travel!
