This cake and champagne mini reception was a belated happy "60th" birthday wish for my mother. She became ill a week before the wedding and did not make it, but we did our tribute anyway with love.

I told Marcus he had to properly ask me to be his wife. Well after the ceremony I reminded him and his best friend that the marriage was not official until Marcus got down on one knee. Marcus got down on bending knees and pledge his love forever and asked me to be his wife for the rest of our lives.

Our wedding cake was buttercream icing on a yellow jamaican rum cake. Marcus and I chose our cake from The Knot's website and added a few personal touches. He wanted the flowers and ribbons in color and I designed the caketopper.
