The bride and groom decided to see each other before the ceremony for logistical reasons. With a ceremony and reception at the same venue, they didn't want to miss out on the celebration to go take pictures.
This picture was taken during the "first look" arranged by their photographer. All their close family and friends were there to share in this special moment.

The bridal party consisted of five bridesmaids, five groomsmen, two flower girls, a ring bearer, and the best man and maid of honor.
The group took pictures at Syracuse University where the groom went got his undergraduate degree and the bride went for her Masters. The location was both beautiful and relevant to the couple.
The turquoise dresses with the pink and orange flowers made for a bright color palette.

Since the couple comes from a mixed religious background, they chose to have a civil ceremony in the atrium of the OnCenter Complex in Syracuse, NY where the bride and groom currently live.
The bride's uncle and groom's grandmother each read a poem about love and the bride's brothers sang John Denver's "Annie's Song."
The couple decided to stand beneath a huppah and the groom smashed a glass at the end of the ceremony to pay homage to the bride's jewish roots. The two traditions and their history were described in the program.

The couple had a beautiful ice sculpture that doubled as a martini luge.
It was a marvelous centerpiece and fun addition to the cocktail hour.

The bride and groom used a monogram the bride created throughout the day.
It was on the programs, the back of the escort cards, the dance floor, the hotel gift baskets, as well as on the wall of the venue. It helped make the whole weekend more cohesive.

The couple took ballroom dance lessons for fun when they first started dating. So they decided to choreograph their first dance.
They chose Clint Black's "When I said I do" for a romantic waltz. The dance went off without a hitch and the guests went wild for the routine - especially when the groom dipped the bride for a romantic kiss as the song faded out.
