Sekia was actively pursuing her Executive MBA from Penn State while Ray was studying for his Level 3 CFA Exam. Needless to say, neither of them was in the market for a new relationship. In October 2003 Sekia was seeking a tutor for her financial accounting class. Her tutor asked her what plans she had for her 29th birthday which was coming up in two days. Sekia responded that she had no plans because she wasn’t dating anyone at the time. At that point, the tutor (who happened to be Ray’s sister) mentioned that she had a little brother and she would maybe introduce them one day. The very next day Sekia received an e-mail from Ray inviting her out to dinner for her birthday. The couple had dinner and its all history from there!
The Bride: Sekia Strange age 32 works for a major Automotive Finance Company outside of Philadelphia
The Groom: Raymond Jackson age 31 works for a Private Equity Firm outside of Philadelphia
In March 2006, Ray and Sekia traveled to Las Vegas to celebrate Ray’s 30th Birthday. Sekia had no idea that Ray had an engagement up his sleeve. On the second day of the couple’s trip they had dinner at the “MIX” restaurant which is located on the top floor of the THEhotel at the Mandalay Bay. Ray proposed to Sekia at a table overlooking the entire city of Las Vegas. It was more romantic and well planned out than Sekia ever dreamed that her engagement would be.

Sekia wanted the bridesmaids to wear dresses that would be complimentary to everyone’s shape and size while still maintaining a chic and elegant appearance. The LAZARO dress that was selected was a double faced taffeta wrap A-line gown with a sash at the waist. The main color of the dress was Cantaloupe with a contrast accent sash in Popsicle. The bride selected bright and vibrant colors for the summer with a classy and sophisticated style for an evening wedding.
