Wedding date: September 22, 2007
Wedding location: Castle McCulloch, Jamestown NC
'The Princess Bride' was sort of my personal wedding theme! It's my favorite movie from when I was a little girl. We even walked down the aisle to the theme song from the movie! This is our first dance, to Van Morisson's 'Into the Mystic' For the Father/daughter dance, I danced with my brother Tim because my father passed away back in 2001. My other brother Jeremy is the one that walked me down the aisle. The only thing that could have made this day better would have been to have my Dad there, but my brothers really stepped up to make this day special for me.

Kissing the cake crumbs off each other. We had the most delicious chocolate cake...and it was wheat free! Our cake was made by Catering by Ellyn's, who did all the food at the reception. My husband, who's a chef, came up with the idea to have the personal vows we wrote each other piped onto our cake. Our caterer took our idea and made it an incredible reality!

The beautiful Castle McCulloch where we got married...I definately felt like a princess bride! I had been to the castle once when I was little to a fancy birthday party for one of my Mom's friends, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I decided then and there (at the age of 7!) that I was going to get married there.

My husband and all the good looking groomsmen, enjoying Stephen's last moments of freedom! haha! I like to think of them as 'The Groomsmen of the Apocolypse' The guys all got their tuxes from the Mens Wearhouse. They looked so handsome! Our colors were sage and champagne, so the groomsmen got sage colored vests while Stephen wore a champagne colored one. The fella all the way on the right was our best man. He's the one that actually introduced us back in 1998 when we were all still in high school. We didn't end up dating till 2003 when we reconnected, but we definately have Brewer to thank for that first introduction!

This is one of my best friends Gray. We met in Tokyo in 1999 and have been best friends ever since. She caught the bouquet at my wedding, and her boyfriend ended up catching the garter...and now they are engaged and planning their own wedding! The bridesmaid dresses we got at Josette's Bridal. They are by Forever Yours. My dress we got at Bridal Mart. It was the very first one I pulled off the rack to try on! It's by Jaqueline, and it's the most amazing gown I have ever seen. I wish I could wear it every day! Toni from Occasions did our flowers, and she really went above and beyond. I pinned one of my bridesmaid's cameo that belonged to her grandmother to my bouquet as my something borrowed, and I wore my great-grandmother's wedding ring as my something old. This was my most precious item because it was my connection to my Grandpa (it was his mother's ring) who was too sick to make it to our wedding. He died two weeks later, less than a month shy of his 90th birthday. I had a picture of me in dress from my bridal portrait that I put in his coffin with him, since he never got to see me in my dress...

haha I love this picture of Hunter, one of our groomsmen, and my ladies dancing to SHOUT! I think this picture really sums up the spirit of our friends...they made our evening such a blast and they have all continued to support us every day since the wedding...we love you guys! Our DJ was Colin, from Island Sound, and he kept the party going! Everyone danced the night away to everything from Etta James to Cake.

This is our cake! We did a bunch of satellite layers with different flavors. Those are our vows written on the cake! Just one of my husband's brilliant ideas! Our cake topper was too big to actually sit on our cake, so we ended up just putting it next to all the layers. Cake by Catering By Ellyn.
