it was the simplicity and the sincerity of the ceremony with gifts of music and words from the family, the bride's uncle from Colorado to walk her out onto the cliffs, and the couples own vows to each other that had everyone in tears...not to mention the gorgoeus scenery and the perfect day!... a champagne toast followed the ceremony on the cliffs...

the cruise stopped off across the fjord in the small fishing village of Fiskebackskil to take photos at the classic Gustavian 18th century chapel at the top of the village. The interior of the church is covered from stem to stern in murals painted in the late 1700's of typical Swedish life. The bride is passionate about antique painted wood detailing, so she was quite in her heaven!

This is the photo that the groom grabbed for his bedside and desktop after the wedding! The bride wore jewelry of her mother's from the time when the bride had been a small child, in honor of her Mother, who had died 5 years prior, but had been the inspiration for the bride's passions and profession. The vintage fabric flowers from Tinsel Trading Company in New York City in the bride's hair were honoring the traditional swedish bridal custom of floral wreaths in their hair that they often wear.
The color of the swedish sky and the joy in everyone's hearts made the day!

the couple met in India in 2007 in India while there on business. They were both divorced, he had two grown boys, and she had a tiny pomeranian. He was an r and d manager from a small town in Sweden and she was a clothing designer from New York City. Their first "official" date was to the Taj Mahal in India. Six months later, they were engaged in a Hindu engagement ceremony back in India. But they returned to the cliffs of Stangehuvud , in Lysekil, Sweden , a small fishing village where the groom grew up to be married. Friends and family came from the U.S., Europe and Sweden for a small intimate ceremony. The bride wore a dress by Nicole Miller adding a blue silk ribbon around her hip in honour of the blue skies and water of Sweden, her new home.
