We would like to thank you for joining us in our excitement and celebration. ********** How We Met: We met October of our freshman year at Whitman College, at the Kite and Key dance. We both went with friends, but wound up dancing with each other! Our first official date was October 15th, 2001. Rusty took me to the Backstage Bistro, where he made me eat my vegetables before I could get dessert! He has always taken good care of me. ********** How We Got Engaged: Rusty and I were walking along Lake Union, in Seattle, with our kitten, Foosa, when we sat down at a park bench. Rusty twisted the cat's collar and there was his grandmother's engagement ring! He got down on one knee and proposed, "Will you marry me?" Of course, I said "yes!"
